Geneviève (Gen) Masson has been working as a performance dietitian at the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific since 2018. She has provided sport nutrition support to various National teams, including the Women’s and Men’s Soccer, Women’s Softball, Freestyle Ski (Moguls, Slopestyle/Big Air, Halfpipe), Ski Cross and Para-Alpine as well as many provincial-level teams and athletes, including endurance-based (cross-country skiing, biathlon, triathlon) and weight category sports (judo). In consultation with the coach, athlete and IST, nutrition programs have included planned periodized nutrition needs throughout the YTP, hands-on cooking and shopping skills, nutrition interventions to support injury recovery and manage immune health to support personal best performances. Gen also had experience in food provision, as she was the food coordinator for the 2014 Quebec Games and has worked as a cook for a professional cycling team. Gen has also worked in a clinical setting for the treatment of eating disorders and is an instructor at Langara College where she teaches a Sport Nutrition course. Gen is bilingual (French/English), holds a master’s degree in nutrition, is ISAK certified (level 1) and has completed the IOC Sport Nutrition Diploma.
