Manager, Health Solutions and Senior Physiotherapist

Meghan joined the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO) as an experienced physiotherapist in 2016. Over her 20 years of experience as a physiotherapist practicing in high performance sport, Meghan has been involved with several Provincial and National Sport Organizations’ Integrated Support Teams (ISTs) as their lead and/or dedicated physiotherapist. She has had the opportunity to support athletes at several Major Games including as the Lead Medical Practitioner for Gymnastics at the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, the Skate Canada Team Physiotherapist at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, physiotherapist for Swimming Canada at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the Team Therapist for Women’s Goalball at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Within her role as the Manager, Health Solutions at CSIO, Meghan uses her knowledge and experience to collaboratively develop and implement evidence-based health policies and guidelines, design effective sport science/sport medicine plans to support sports in achieving athletic, and organizational success.

Meghan graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. She completed her Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT) and her Sports Diploma with Sport Physiotherapy Canada, which are the highest levels of designation for orthopaedic and sport physiotherapists. Meghan is also certified in Acupuncture (AFCI) and Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS). Prior to pursuing her degree in Physical Therapy, Meghan attended the University of Waterloo where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a pre-health profession option.

Meghan is also a Lecturer (Adjunct Appointment) with the Department of Physical Therapy/Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and has been involved in unit coordination, curriculum development, lecturing and teaching clinical skills labs within the Introductory and Advanced Musculoskeletal Units. Besides her clinical and academic experience, Meghan has also been involved in governance and policy in Physical Therapy and High Performance Sport as the President of the Central Toronto District of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association for 4 years and as a discipline lead with the High Performance Advisory Council with Own the Podium and several National Working Groups including RED-s, Athlete Intake and Injury and Illness Surveillance.
